On January 22, 2024, a workshop entitled “Practical Education between Theory and Practice” was held in the presence of the Dean of the College of Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sattar J. Haji, the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilbreen A. Ali, the Director of the General Directorate of Educational Supervision in Zakho, Mr. Sagvan I. Meho, the directors of psychological centers in Zakho, some educational supervisors, and university staff.

The Dean of the College, in his opening remarks, pointed out the importance of practical education (theory and practice) in developing and preparing a successful teacher, as well as the significance of having a relationship between the College of Education and the Educational Administrations; together, they play a crucial role in the overall improvement and effectiveness of the educational system.

The workshop program was divided into four sessions; the first session was led by the Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad M. Mubarak, discussed the methods of observation and practice. The second session, led by the Head of the Department of General Psychology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zahid S. Muhammad, considered evaluating the process of theoretical and practical application.

During the third session, Mr. Sagvan I. Meho provided valuable notes and guidance, aiming to support academic success, personal development, and future careers. The final session, centered on the circumstances of psychological trainees in general psychological centers, was headed by Mr. Shakir M. Muhhammad.

 

At the end of the sessions, attendees were afforded the chance to deliberate on the program's subjects. At last, certificates of appreciation were distributed.
